Well, this is the best news I have heard about British TV in a while. It seems ‘Broadchurch 3‘ is coming to ITV on February 27th at 9pm. That means in less than two weeks time. Now isn’t that a nice surprise?
The acclaimed ITV crime drama series will see the reuniting of David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Olivia Colman (Twenty Twelve) as detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller, in a story that will have the two investigating a sexual assault.
An assault that damages the entire tiny Dorset community as the perpetrator is still at large and suspicions abound, and DI Hardy worries he will do it again.
Sadly, we won’t be seeing anymore of these two brilliantly written characters after the third season of ‘Broadchurch‘. Creator Chris Chibnall explained, “This is the final chapter of Broadchurch. We have one last story to tell, featuring both familiar faces and new characters. I hope it’s a compelling and emotional farewell to a world and show that means so much to me.”
Lenny Henry will join the cast for the new and last season, along with Roy Hudd, Sarah Parish and Charlie Higson. Watch the trailer below to get into the mood.
