Charli XCX: Success, Being ‘The Girl to Watch’ and Writing Songs (Video)

British pop star Charli XCX has been waiting for at least the last four years to ‘make it big’ but this year has been her year. What with already writing and being featured onĀ Icona Pop’s ‘I Love It‘ in 2012 and then Iggy Azalea‘s ‘Fancy‘ this year, as well as her own hit single ‘Boom Clap‘ for The Fault in Our Stars soundtrack, 2014 was definitely a good year for Charli XCX.

In an interview with ODE channel this week, Charli talked about what it was like having to be ‘the girl to watch’ for the last four years, and how frustrating it is wondering if you’re ever going to hit it big. It got so bad at one point she even thought she might just concentrate on songwriting and forget about trying to hit it big as a singer.

Luckily for Charli XCX, she doesn’t have to worry about that anymore, as she’s already got her third album ‘Sucker’ coming out on October 21st and will be backing up Katy Perry on her new ‘The Prismatic European Tour’ in early 2015.

Good for her.
