Chinese-American Computer Animated Movie ‘Rock Dog’ is Based on a Chinese Graphic Novel — Watch the Trailer

The TV spot for the upcoming computer-animated movie ‘Rock Dog‘ has been released, and it is very cute. It shows Bodi a Tibetan Mastiff, and the star of the film, realizing he can never be a sheep guard in his Tibetan village like his dad and his ancestors before him.

Instead, he wants to be a guitar player in a rock band. So he sets off for America to try to make his dream come true.

Rock Dog‘ stars the voices of Luke Wilson,Eddie Izzard, J.K. Simmons, Lewis Black and Kenan Thompson and, interestingly, is a collaboration between Chinese and American production companies — Mandoo Pictures and Huayi Brothers. The film is based on a Chinese graphic novel that was written and illustrated by Chinese rock musician Zheng Jun.

Rock Dog‘ was released in China in mid-2016, and will be released in the U.S. on February 24th.

Watch the ‘Rock Dog‘ trailer below. Looks like fun, and a great movie for kids.
