The Austrian broadcaster ORF has announced the dates Eurovision 2015 will be held in Austria, with a slight change from what was first expected.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest 2015 semi finals will now be held on the 19th and 21st of May, with the Eurovision final on the 23rd of May, 2015 (a couple of weeks later than was initially thought). The Austrian city they’ll be held in and the venue have yet to be decided upon, however, but that decision is expected to be announced within the first few days of August, 2014 at the latest.

The three cities in contention to host Eurovision 2015 are Vienna and its venue the Wiener Stadthalle, Innsbruck with the Olympiaworld, and Graz with Stadthalle Graz.

Many do think Vienna will be the city finally chosen to host the event, as it’s felt most people who come to Austria for the competition will expect it to be in the capital city – with all the grandeur that entails. Plus, if their initial entry into the country is via Vienna, they also won’t want to have to travel from Vienna onto another destination for the Eurovision venue.

However, that is still pure speculation, with Innsbruck and Graz organizers saying they have the werewithall to do as good a job of putting on the spectacular event as would Vienna if that city was chosen.

One thing we are all sure about, however, is Conchita Wurst, the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest winner, will be heavily involved in the 2015 event – and we’re all deliriously happy about that.
