Grab your ticket for the 5th Annual Vienna Boylesque Festival

Just a quick reminder that the fabulous Vienna Boylesque Festival takes place next week — May 30th and 31st, 2018 — and, if you don’t have tickets yet, you really need to grab them before they run out.

Founded and produced by the brilliant Jacques Patriaque only five years ago, the Vienna Boylesque Festival is already one of the most well-respected events in the Boylesque and Burlesque world.

So much so that, every year, when Jacques opens up the application process for artists wanting to perform at the event, he is inundated with applications from Boylesque/Burlesque artists from all over Europe, the United States and beyond. (Last year, well over 600 applications for only 40 spots!).

Artists all dying to perform at what is already known as one of the best-produced, most well-organized, most diverse and the most creative and fun Boylesque festival you will ever attend.

Why the Vienna Boylesque Festival is so much fun

2017 was my first year attending the Vienna Boylesque Festival, and I knew only halfway through the performances it would definitely not be my last.

Because not only is this show a wild ride, and packed with literally the best of the best when it comes to Boylesque and Burlesque artists, Jacques also chooses a host every year that keeps the show moving quickly, while still adding their own personality and humor.

YouTube sensation, and iconic New York drag act, Miss Sherry Vine is the host for 2018.

The atmosphere too is great, as the Vienna Boylesque Festival is held at the wonderful Stadtsaal on Vienna’s iconic Mariahilfer Strasse.

Tucked back off the street, Stadtsaal is far bigger than you might expect from its tiny On Mariahilfer Strasse alley entrance way. And, while still a traditional Viennese theater and with all the gentileness that entails, it is actually quite trendy and cool.

Stadtsaal also has two laidback bars with such a lovely ‘theater atmosphere’, and where you can grab a drink and socialize before, in the middle of, and after the show.

What I loved about both of them too is many of the artists also head there. So you get to see them up close, and tell them how much you loved their performances.

Host and performers

Hosting at the Vienna Boylesque Festival this year for both days is New York City’s Miss Sherry Vine.

On May 30th, the first day of the two-day festival, Eurovision winner and Austrian superstar Conchita (aka Conchita Wurst) will be the headlining live act. Conchita will be making her second appearance at the festival, after performing there just a couple of weeks after she won the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2014.

Conchita’s performance at the 1st Annual Vienna Boylesque show was superb

We will also be treated to headliner performances from Michelle L’amour, Isaiah Esquire, Roxi D’lite, LayDee KinMee, as well as 11 other performers including Vienna’s own Kitty Willenbruch.

On the second day, May 31st, headliners are Jesus, Johnny Nuriel, Shangela, Soa de Muse, Sweetpea and Vic Sin.

Jacques Patriaque himself will also be performing on stage on the second day, as will iconic Vienna drag artist Tamara Mascara.

Tickets are still available for the Vienna Boylesque Festival, but are very likely to sell out in the next few days. So, if there is even a chance you may be able to go, you should buy yours now.

You can grab tickets for day one of the festival — May 30th, 2018 — here, and for day two — May 31st, 2018 — here.  Or, if you would like to head to both days, the Vienna Boylesque Festival does have a two-day pass.
