Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett’s ‘Cheek to Cheek’ Nominated for Grammy

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett’s album ‘Cheek to Cheek’ has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, and can I just say, no surprise from me. In fact, I called that Grammy nomination when the album was released, and fully expect it to win.

That’s because ‘Cheek to Cheek‘ is easily one of the best albums this year, as well as one of the best albums both Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett have ever released.

Cheek to Cheek‘ topped the Billboard 100 chart its first week of release, giving Gaga her third consecutive number one album, and Bennett the opportunity to extend a record he already held. That of being the oldest person to ever have an album in the number one spot — a record he had held previously with the 2011 release of ‘Duets II’, when he was 85.

Gaga tweeted about the Grammy nomination saying:

“Me and Tony are so excited!! @TheGRAMMYs has nominated “Cheek To Cheek” for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album WOW!!!!!”

All I can say is “Congratulations” and “Well deserved”. And should I add, “You’d better prepare an acceptance speech?”
