Lady Gaga on ‘American Horror Story’ and why she chose to do it
I don’t listen to Lady Gaga’s music much. Not because I don’t like it, just that, weirdly considering how big she is, it has never really hit my radar too often. I do, however, follow some of the other things she does as, regardless that she is an incredibly successful musician, Lady Gaga is also one of the smartest women on the planet when it comes to the career choices she makes. And she’s incredibly articulate about what she chooses to do and why.
Last week, Lady Gaga talked to The Hollywood Reporter about her involvement in the newest season of ‘American Horror Story‘ and, again, proved just how articulate she is when she spoke about why she chose to do the show.
Gaga said, rather than choosing ‘American Horror Story‘ as a project because it was provocative, she instead decided to do it because the story creator Ryan Murphy is telling about society intrigues her.
“The story he’s telling about addiction. The story he’s telling about our own narcissism. The story that he’s telling about how the human being strives to survive within the challenges of the universe — that to me is what makes the sex so good.”
She went on to say she sees Ryan Murphy as a visionary, and was fascinated with the character development from season to season, and how the show has become more “interesting and vibrant and exciting”. Because of that, she wanted to be a part of it.
