Listen to Bastille’s ‘World Gone Mad‘ from the new Will Smith movie ‘Bright

The new David Ayer and Netflix blockbuster movie ‘Bright’ has been causing a lot of talk since it was released right before Christmas. Not just for the fact that it was universally panned by just about every critic that saw it (and it is a truly terrible film), but because the film does feature some excellent music.

Like British indie band Bastille‘s ‘World Gone Mad’ for instance, which was heard as Ward talks to Jakoby about “having his back”, and then shoots the corrupt cops.

World Gone Mad‘ is the first new music released by the band for a while and written exclusively for ‘Bright‘, and a song that seems to speak to all the crazy things going on in the world right now. The rise of Trump, the ridiculousness of the UK’s Brexit, the increasing support the far right is getting across Europe.

It is also one of 13-tracks featured on Bright: The Album, just released on the Atlantic Record label. Tracks that include Logic and Rag’N’Bone Man’s ‘Broken People‘ and Portugal, The Man’s ‘Cheer Up‘.

As for Bastille, they are currently working on their third studio album. A follow up to their massively successful Wild World. It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2018.
