Singer songwriter Grant-Lee Phillips’ ‘Winterglow‘ was featured in ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life‘ — Episode 1, “Winter” — the reincarnation of the iconic and much loved TV series that has just been released on Netflix.

The track was heard during the opening scenes of the montage of Stars Hollow, and as Lorelei and Rory arrive home.

Grant-Lee Phillips’ ‘Winterglow‘ is a single he released back in 2008 just in time for Christmas, and it’s a song that becomes quite popular every year around this time.

It is also the perfect song for the first few scenes of the “Winter” episode of ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life“.

As for Grant-Lee Phillips, he has been performing since 1987 both as a solo act and part of a band, and is known by critics as one of the best male vocalists out there. Sadly, though, Phillips has never made it out of cult status which, when you hear songs like ‘Winterglow‘, it really is hard to believe.
