Listen to the Mavis Staples’ track ‘You Are Not Alone’ from Midnight, Texas’

Legendary rhythm and blues and gospel singer Mavis Staples’ song ‘You Are Not Alone‘ was featured on the latest episode of Midnight, Texas this week — Season 1, Episode 7, “Angel Heart“.

The track was played as Manfred tells Creek he will walk her home, Madonna tells Creek to take the day off and Chuy apologizes to everyone.

Staples’ ‘You Are Not Alone‘ was written by Jeff Tweedy, and is the title track from her thirteenth studio album, which was also produced by Tweedy. The album was awarded a Grammy for the Best Americana Album.

Mavis Staples has also had a long and very successful career with 15 studio albums currently released, one EP, three compilation albums, a live album and a slew of singles. Several of her albums were produced by people like Ry Cooder, Prince and Curtis Mayfield.

She has also appeared on many TV series and movies including Soul Train, The Last Waltz and New York Undercover.
