Listen to Paul Young’s ‘Every Time You Go Away’ from Watchmen, Season 1, Episode 7

British singer songwriter Paul Young’s ‘Every Time You Go Away‘ was featured on the newest episode of the superhero drama series Watchmen this week — Watchmen, Season 1, Episode 7, “An Almost Religious Awe“.

The song was heard as Angela meets her grandmother.

Paul Young’s ‘Every Time You Go Away‘ was one of the biggest hits of the 1980s, even though it was actually a Paul Young cover of an original Hall & Oates track.

Young recorded the song for his enormously successful second studio album The Secret of Association.

Released in February, 1985, the track hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart several months later. It also made it to the top spot on the U.S. Adult Contemporary chart, and was eventually certified Gold in Canada and the U.S. as well as Silver in the United Kingdom.

The official music video for ‘Every Time You Go Away‘ was also awarded British Video of the Year at the Brit Awards a year later.

You can watch that video below, as well as listen to Young’s album The Secret of Association, which includes the popular song, in its entirety in the Spotify widget below that.
