Stevie Wonder’s song ‘Uptight (Everything’s Alright)‘ was featured on the NBC TV series ‘This Is Us‘ this week — January 17th, 2017, Season 1, Episode 12, “The Big Day“.
It was played during the opening scene, when Jack puts on a record and gets the babies to kick to it.
‘Uptight (Everything’s Alright)‘ was originally released in 1965 and was one of Stevie Wonder’s first hit singles. The song hit the number 3 spot on the Billboard Pop Singles chart, and then hit the top spot on the Billboard R&B chart soon after.
The song eventually appeared on his album Uptight, which was released a couple of months later. It has appeared in several TV series and movies, including Mr. Holland’s Opus and an episode of Glee, and has become an iconic Stevie Wonder song.
