British rock band Sweet’s ‘The Ballroom Blitz‘ was featured in the just released movie Suicide Squad, and I had to give the song a shout out today, as this was one of my favorite songs from my childhood.
‘The Ballroom Blitz‘ was first released in 1973 in the UK and Europe as a single, and then on Sweet’s North American version of the album Desolation Boulevard in 1974. The track was written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman.
Weirdly, however, and especially as how popular it was, it was never released on a UK album, except for compilations.
