Listen to The White Buffalo’s ‘The Observatory‘ from ‘This Is Us

American alternative country singer songwriter The White Buffalo’s ‘The Observatory‘ was one of the songs featured on the latest episode of the NBC TV series This Is Us this week — Season 2, Episode 11, “The Fifth Wheel“.

The track was heard over the final scenes of the episode.

The White Buffalo, aka Jake Smith, was born in Oregon but moved to California at a young age. After graduating from university with a degree in history, Smith began to write and perform music under the moniker The White Buffalo.  Hogtied Like a Rodeo, his debut album, was  independently released in 2002.

Since then, he has released five more studio albums, three EPs and three soundtrack albums.

The White Buffalo’s music has also been very popular with the music supervisors of the FX TV series ‘Sons of Anarchy’ in its last years. In fact, his music appeared on the show numerous times including tracks like “Damned“, “Matador” and “Set My Body Free“.

Other TV shows his music has been featured on include Californication and Marvel’s The Punisher.

The White Buffalo’s latest album was released back in October, 2017. Called Darkest Darks, Lightest Lights, it received mostly positive critical reviews.
