Listen to The Youngbloods’ ‘Get Together’ from ‘The Vietnam War’ episode 9 — classic cool

Listen to The Youngbloods’ ‘Get Together’ from The Vietnam War Episode 9

The critically acclaimed PBS series The Vietnam War has some of the best music I have ever heard on the soundtrack of a TV show.

Music that includes original compositions from Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, as well as a massive compilation of popular songs from that era.

On Season 1, Episode 9 of The Vietnam War this week — “A Disrespectful Loyalty (May 1970-March 1973)“– along with a huge number of other brilliant songs there was this –the rock band The Youngbloods classic song ‘Get Together‘.

A song you may not always remember who sang it, but will definitely recognize it as one of the most well-known songs from the 1960s.

The Youngbloods’ ‘Get Together‘ was originally released in 1967 and then re-issued in 1969.

It was not, however, an original song for the band having been first released by the Kingston Trio and then Jefferson Airplane. But it is The Youngbloods that are the band most associated with this song.

Listen to The Youngbloods singing ‘Get Together‘ in the video below.

And yes, you can still buy it on the album Get Together: The Essential Younglbloods.

You can also pick up The Vietnam War soundtrack, which includes most of the songs from the series.
