Listen to Tones On Tail’s ‘Go’ from ‘Stranger Things’ season 2 ‘The Pollywog’ — gothic rock at its best

Listen to Tones On Tail’s ‘Go’ from Stranger Things season 2 ‘The Pollywog

The biggest reason I am loving the second season of Stranger Things is now on Netflix is the incredible 1980s music that is on the show’s soundtrack.

Tracks like the brilliant Tones On Tail song ‘Go!‘ A song I probably have not heard for 20 years, but one I used to play on my show just about every day when I was a DJ at an alternative radio station back in the late 80s.

This year, ‘Go!‘ showed up on the third episode of the second season of Stranger Things — “The Pollywog”, and was played when the kids were playing basketball.

Tones On Tail themselves were a short-lived gothic rock music project founded by Daniel Ash of Bauhaus fame. Starting off in 1982 as a duo with friend Glenn Campling, drummer Kevin Haskins joined them after Bauhaus broke up for good.

Sadly, they disbanded just two years later when Haskins and Ash went on to found Love and Rockets.

Listen to Tones On Tail’s ‘Go!’ in the video below, and then do watch the special video edit Peter Michael Schmidt did for the track for the Berlin Nightclub in Chicago, Illinois in 1986. It is absolutely brilliant.
