Australian singer songwriter Wafia’s ‘The Ending‘ feat Finneas was featured on the season finale of Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments this week — Season 3, Episode 20, “City of Glass“.
The song was played as we see Maia walk up to Jordan, and discover that he has died from the silver poisoning he had told her he was cured of. Maia takes Jordan’s body back to New York for the last rites. This means it is now time for Maia to be the new alpha in the pack.
As for Wafia, aka Wafia Al-Rikabi, she is of Iraqi-Syrian origin but was born in the Netherlands.
After attending university to study biomedicine, she realized music was where she wanted to go with her life. She was eventually signed to indie label Future Classic in 2015 and, since then, has released three EPs and six singles.
She has also been a featured artist on singles with Charles Murdoch, Louis the Child and with Australian music producer Ta-ku.
