Official opening ceremony for Eurovision 2015 kicks off the world’s biggest music competition in Vienna today

Continuing on with my Countdown to Eurovision 2015 (2 days to Semi Final 1 and 6 days to the Grand Final) I’m showcasing the official opening ceremony for Eurovision Song Contest 2015 at the Vienna City Hall tonight. It was hosted by the city authority, host broadcaster ORF and the EBU, and featured all 40 Eurovision contestants, as well as last year’s winner, Conchita Wurst.

The first country on the red carpet at the official opening of Eurovision 2015 was Denmark, last year’s host country, followed by The Netherlands, Lithuania, Ireland and Israel, and then the rest of the artists representing this year’s 40 countries.

Music throughout the event was played by the Vienna Conservatory.
