Vance Joy’s ‘Fire and the Flood’ Video is Beautiful and Sad

Australian singer Vance Joy released the official video for ‘Fire and the Flood‘ this week, and it’s quite beautiful yet sad. The track comes from the special-edition release of his debut album Dream Your Life Away.

In it, we see Joy singing to the camera as he walks around a destroyed apartment. By the end, we realize the woman who keeps appearing in all of the rooms is the one who destroyed it. Of course, we don’t know why.

As for Vance Joy, he has been attracting a lot of attention lately, as he’s been touring with Taylor Swift to massive sold-out crowds. A unique experience for Joy, who told Billboard:

“I’ve done 20 shows [so far], and they’ve all been really special. The second show I played in Baton Rouge in Louisiana — I wasn’t sure if it would work, but I wanted to get the crowd to hold up their phones and turn their lights on. That was, like, 15,000 people, and they all did it. I was so nervous before, but I went offstage after it worked, and I was like, ‘This is incredible.”

Watch Vance Joy’s new video ‘Fire and the Flood‘ below. I love the video, and the song is beautiful.

And, of course, if you like what you hear, Vance Joy’s debut album Dream Your Life Away was released last year, and it is wonderful.
