Got to say I am absolutely ecstatic to see Korean drama A Virtuous Business hit #5 on the Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart this week.
It has been one of my favorite K-dramas since it premiered, as it features some of South Korea’s best actresses and who are utterly superb in their roles.
According to the latest data from Netflix’s Tudum platform, A Virtuous Business made it to the high spot on the chart after being watched 1.6 million times for a total number of viewing hours of 6.1 million during the period October 14th to the 20th, 2024.
The K-drama was in the Top 10 in 7 countries — Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines and South Korea – which also helped catapult it towards the top.
A Virtuous Business now in Top 10 in 15 countries?
Meanwhile, Flix Patrol is showing the Korean drama is currently in the Top 10 on Netflix in 15 countries as of today, so we may see it climb even further up the chart when next week’s results are released.
Fingers crossed as this one, with its almost all-female main leads, well-written scripts, funny scenarios and risqué subject matter, is quite a bit different from the usual Korean drama fare.
A Virtuous Business, which had just four episodes released when it hit the Top 10 chart, premiered on Netflix on October 12th, and is scheduled to release its final episode on November 17th.
The K-drama is also airing on JTBC in South Korea where its most recent episode, Episode 4, just earned it highest rating yet.
Looks like A Virtuous Business may just be one of those Korean dramas that starts out a little quietly, but is soon being talked about, and watched, everywhere.
A Virtuous Business stars Kim So Yeon, Yeon Woo Jin, Kim Sung Ryung, Kim Sun Young, and Lee Se Hee.
Its next episode will hit Netflix on Saturday, October 26th.
Get started with the first four episodes now if you haven’t already, as I promise you will love this one.
