After We Gazed at the Starry Sky manga English version out this year – sweet, wholesome Boys’ Love story

The After We Gazed at the Starry Sky manga is finally getting an English translation via Yen Press.

The Boys’ Love manga tells the story of wheelchair user Subaru Miyazawa who is asked to design a brochure for a planetarium project partially designed by Togo Awase, a photographer he idolizes.

When Subaru is able to meet the man, he cannot believe his luck, although Togo is quite embarrassed at just how gushing about his work Subaru becomes.

After Togo has carried Subaru down some steps so that he can see the planetarium’s starry sky properly, however, Subaru becomes even more smitten with him and hopes he will have a chance to meet Togo again.

The story of After We Gazed at the Starry Sky is lovely, the two main characters are both so wholesome and sweet, and the art style throughout, especially of the starry night skies, is absolutely gorgeous.

Unlike many Boys’ Love manga, this one doesn’t feature any graphic sex scenes.

Instead, we get just a couple of very chaste kisses, which even makes it a BL manga you can happily read on the bus, at school or in front of others.

Yen Press plans to publish the After We Gazed at the Starry Sky English version in August, 2023.
