The fabulous Asleep at the Wheel and Kat Edmonson sang “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love‘ live on Late Night with David Letterman this week and, wow, what an amazing performance.
Of course, it being only 27 shows before David Letterman’s 22-year stint on Late Night with David Letterman comes to an end, Dave’s packing in all the great music he can before he leaves the show, and inviting back some of his favorite music guests.
Asleep at the Wheel, of course, are one of Dave’s favorites, so it wasn’t any surprise they were back on the show this week singing ‘I Can’t Give You Anything But Love‘.
The song is from their new album Still the King: Celebrating the Music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys. An album that features some of the most amazing musical collaborations with people like Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett and Merle Haggard.
You can grab Still the King on iTunes and, of course, watch Asleep at the Wheel along with Kat Edmonson on David Letterman in the video below. Just a fabulous performance.
