The song, and her performance, gained her 290 points in the competition, putting her 52 points ahead of her closest rival The Netherlands, who finished in second place.

Conchita Wurst, aka Tom Neuwirth, is a drag artist who was chosen by Austrian television station ORF to represent the country after two years of the public choosing the song and singer not getting the results the Alpine country would have liked.

Looks like ORF made the right decision, as not only did Conchita Wurst give an amazing performance, both in the semi-finals and finals of Eurovision, the audience both in the hall and on TV absolutely loved her as well.

As you can tell by the enormous number of public votes she earned.

All I can say is Conchita Wurst has to be one of the best winners of the Eurovision Song Contest that I can ever remember.

I have watched the Austrian singer’s performance now at least 15 times, and I am moved to tears every time.
