Producers of the upcoming new supernatural action comedy anime Ayakashi Triangle released more information about the hilarious looking anime during a livestream about the show on YouTube earlier today, including its premiere date of January 10th.
They also released the anime’s first trailer, which shows protagonists Suzu Kanade and Matsuri Kazamaki coming across the four-hundred-year-old ayakashi (evil spirit) Shirogane, and then Shirogane turning Matsuri into a girl.
This, of course, causes problems for the pair as, not only is Suzu in love with Matsuri, but Matsuri, who is also an exorcist ninja now has to learn how to act like a girl.
That is, until his grandfather — a famous exorcist — can undo the spell, and turn him back to his natural self.
Along with introducing the voice actors — Kana Ichinose (Miku in Do It Yourself!!) who voices Suzu Kanade, Shouya Chiba (Souma in Play It Cool, Guys) as Matsuri Kazamaki, Tesshou Genda (Alan in Summertime Render) as Shirogane, and Miyu Tomita (Miko in Kaguya-sama) who voices Matsuri when he is a girl — we also heard snippets of the opening and ending theme songs.
They are opening theme song ‘Neppu wa Rutensuru‘ by Philosophy no Dance, and ending theme song ‘Itowanai‘ by MiMiNARI feat. cast members Miyu Tomita and Kana Ichinose.

The Ayakashi Triangle anime is based on the manga by Kentaro Yabuki (To Love Ru).
It is being directed by Noriaki Akitaya (ORESUKI Are you the only one who loves me?), with series composition by Shougo Yasukawa (A Certain Scientific Railgun T), and character designs by Hideki Furukawa (Strike the Blood).
With 11 volumes of the manga currently out in Japanese, and one out so far in English, there is a lot of material to cover so we may get much more than one season of this one.
As it looks hilarious, can I say “Yay!”?
Seven Seas Entertainment, who is currently publishing the manga in English, has this to say about the plot:
Matsuri Kazamaki’s job as an exorcist ninja means that his livelihood depends on driving away the ayakashi spirits who endanger humans. He has been protecting his childhood friend, Suzu Kanade, from the shadows for years, as she effortlessly attracts ayakashi.
But what will happen when Suzu encounters a creature who looks like a simple cat, but who is really Shirogane, the king of ayakashi?
Volume 2 of the manga will be out in English in February, 2023 as a nice addition to the just-launched anime series.
