Stephen Poliakoff’s new drama ‘Close To The Enemy‘ is coming to BBC Two, and it just got a new trailer.
The seven-part series is, interestingly, set in a bomb-damaged hotel in London right after the Second World War. It has a stellar cast — Jim Sturgess, Freddie Highmore, Charlotte Riley, Phoebe Fox, August Diehl Angela Bassett, and Alfred Molina, to name just a few — and the 1946-set story promises to be quite exciting.
British intelligence agent Captain Callum Ferguson (Jim Sturgess) has to persuade a German scientist (August Diehl) to help the RAF develop the jet engine. Against his initial will, of course.
Watch the trailer for ‘Close To The Enemy‘ in the video below. It’s only 20 seconds long, yet it’s pretty obvious it’s going to be exciting.
As per usual with the BBC, though, there is no word on when it will actually air. Honestly, you would think they are in the intelligence service themselves. Annoying.
