It seemed a bit strange seeing Beyoncé getting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award at the VMAs last night; only because she’s still so incredibly young (32, the last time I checked), and still has a lifetime ahead of her to produce even more great work. But, get the VMA Lifetime Achievement Award she did and in a manner most other recipients would not.
That’s because Beyoncé’s own husband, Jay Z and her daughter Blue Ivy were the ones up on stage to present the award and to give the singer a big hug.
Before she received the award, Beyoncé also gave a stellar 20-minute performance featuring many of the songs from her self-titled album, which fans were obviously thrilled to hear.
As for Beyoncé, she looked ecstatic when the award was presented, giving Blue Ivy a huge smile and then thanking both her and Jay Z in her speech. She finished the speech by saying, “Blue, I love you, my beloved I love you. MTV, I love you, my fans I love you. Goodnight.”
