Black Butler: Public School Arc creditless OP and ED animations out and they’re cool

The official website of the Black Butler anime has just unveiled a creditless version of the opening and ending themes for its “Public School Arc”, and both are incredibly cool in their own way.

The opening sequence, directed by Masashi Ishihama, who is renowned for directing Horimiya and Horimiya -The Missing Pieces- offers a fresh perspective to the popular historical anime series.

Titled Fanatic Parade – The Parade of Battlers” by Otoha, the opening theme song that plays over the animation also sets the tone for the new arc with its cool rock sound.

On the other hand, the ending sequence, directed by Oka Okazaki is accompanied by the captivating melody of “Shokuzai” by SID.

Yep, iconic rock band SID is back with Black Butler, and they’ve provided an ending theme that adds a more poignant conclusion to the latest arc.

Black Butler: Public School Arc info

Black Butler: Public School Arc (aka Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen) premiered on April 13th in Japan.

It’s the sequel to Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic, and we have waited a helluva long time — almost seven years — for it to show up.

The new season is being directed by Kenjirou Okada (March Comes in Like a Lion), with Hiroyuki Yoshino (Strike the Blood) in charge of series composition, and Yumi Shimizu (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU), who was also involved in the original 2008 Black Butler, creating the character designs (which are quite a bit different than what we’re used to, I’ve gotta say, but still nice).

CloverWorks (SPY x FAMILY) has taken over animation production from A-1 Pictures.

Aniplex describes the anime like this:

Sebastian Michaelis, the butler, collaborates with his 13-year-old master, Earl Ciel Phantomhive, in executing the clandestine tasks of “the Queen’s Watchdog” within the murky underworld of nineteenth-century England.

Their routine is disrupted when Queen Victoria sends a missive to Ciel, informing him of the mysterious disappearances of students from Weston College, a prestigious institution; among them is her relative, Derrick.

Determined to unravel the truth behind these vanishing acts, Sebastian and Ciel embark on an undercover mission within Weston College. What secrets lie hidden within its walls, and what fate befell the missing students?

With no alternative in sight, Ciel finds himself compelled to enroll at Weston College for the sake of investigation. Meanwhile, Sebastian assumes the role of Sapphire Owl’s latest housemaster, joining the institution’s staff.

You can watch the first episode of Black Butler: Public School Arc which is technically Season 4 of the hit anime series, streaming now on Crunchyroll.

Gotta say I like that art style. A lot.
