Buried Hearts EP15 is #1 most watched-show on Friday ahead of tonight’s series finale

SBS drama Buried Hearts about to go out with a bang?

It appears the series finale of the Korean drama Buried Hearts is likely to grab another new personal record tonight.

Especially after Buried Hearts, Episode 15 aired last night and became the #1 most-watched show on Friday. Of any kind.

According to the latest data via Nielsen Korea, Buried Hearts, Episode 15 aired on SBS in South Korea to a nationwide rating of 13.4 percent.

That was the same all-time high Friday rating that it received the Friday before, while setting itself up nicely to go out with a bang when its series finale airs later on tonight.

The Korean drama also garnered a slightly higher 13.6 percent from viewers in Seoul.

If Park Hyung Sik had 2 trillion won, what would he do with it?

That is slightly down from its previous Friday’s all-time high of 14.0 percent, but still a viewership that meant Buried Hearts was the #1 show for all of Friday in that region as well.

With the K-drama’s final episode airing tonight then, chances are we will see Episode 16 beat the 14.6 percent nationwide and 14.5 percent in Seoul that were its previous all-time highs.

Fingers crossed, eh?

Still in the Top 10 on Disney+ and on Wavve

While Korean dramas rarely hit the Top 10 on Disney+ in the west, (which is why, I believe, they should be licensed to Netflix and not Disney), they do perform very well on the same platform in Asia.

Currently then, Buried Hearts has been in the Top 10 this week in five of the Asian countries where Disney+ streams — Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.

The K-drama was also the #5 most-watched show on Wavve in South Korea.

Meanwhile internationally, even the grumblers over at My Drama List have been awarding Buried Hearts higher and higher ratings as each new episode released.

To the point that the K-drama’s ratings have now increased from an 8.0 after Episode 2, to the platform’s current rating of 8.4 out of 10.

A rating that is still too low, in my opinion.

Particularly when you look at the drama’s superb performances from not just the leads but supporting actors as well, along with its excellent scripts and directionn.

But, at least its heading in the right direction, right?

Buried Hearts stars what has turned out to be one of the best main casts in a Korean drama this year so far — Park Hyung Sik, Huh Joon Ho, Lee Hae Young, and Hong Hwa Yeon.

The Korean drama’s final episode airs on SBS/streams on Disney+ later on tonight. Don’t miss it.
