C-drama The Stars cast announced – includes Zhang Xincheng, Wan Qian, and Yan Yikuan in its stellar ensemble

The cast for the upcoming 16-episode Chinese sci-fi drama The Stars has been announced, along with booting ceremony photographs of the main cast.

Here’s everything we know about the drama so far. Not a huge amount, I must admit, but it is a sci-fi and, as they are few and far between coming out of China, it’s one to keep an eye on.

Along with the release of The Stars booting ceremony photos, Tencent also commented:

When extraterrestrial signals are detected, the laws of the universe may be rewritten—humanity stands at a crossroads of destiny. The future is closer than ever. 

C-drama The Stars production details

The Stars is directed by Ding Ding and Zhang Yu, with Chen Sicheng (Detective Chinatown) as screenwriter.

The Stars leads are Zhang Xincheng (Created in China) and Wan Qian (The Tale of Rose), with a main cast that includes Yan Yikuan (Burning Flames), Shang Yuxian (Detective Chinatown), and Li Jiuxiao (The Elephant is Here).

The Chinese drama also features special appearances from Wang Long Zheng (Fearless Whispers), Zhou Ye Mang (Come on Brothers), and with guest stars that include Chen Hao (Never Too Late), Ana, Martin Wang (The Seven Relics of Ill Omen), and Deng Fei (Da Shi Jie Niu Dan Ji).

Like I said, not overwhelming details that’s for sure, but more will obviously drop as filming starts and more production details are finalized.
