New Cherry Magic! trailer makes upcoming anime look perfect
While I collect a slew of manga titles, there are only three that I rush out to buy as soon as a new volume is out — LaidBack Camp, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi and the one that has recently had an anime adaptation announced — Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!
Now, as if it wasn’t fabulous enough that a Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! anime adaptation is already on its way, when you watch the just-released first trailer for that anime, you are going to be as ecstatic as me.
Because that Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! trailer seems to prove the upcoming anime is everything you could want in an anime adaptation of the popular Boys’ Love manga series.
Right from the Japanese voice actors — Ryouta Suzuki (Ryuusui Nanami in Dr. Stone) who is playing Kurosawa and Chiaki Kobayashi (Mash in Mashle) who is voicing Adachi — and who, in just that short trailer, seem to perfectly embody what most of us will expect our two favorite BL characters to sound like, to the humor we love about the manga.
The only thing that seems a little ‘off’ to me about the Cherry Magic! trailer is the character design, with the characters not quite looking like their manga counterparts.
Then again, they are close enough that I am sure, once I am halfway through the first episode of the Cherry Magic! anime, I probably won’t even notice.
Two new Cherry Magic! anime cast members announced
Along with the cute, funny and, yep, almost perfect looking Cherry Magic! trailer, we also got an announcement this week about two new cast members.
Those Cherry Magic! cast members are:
- Makoto Furukawa (Motoharu Igarashi in Play It Cool, Guys) who is playing Adachi’s friend Tsuge Masato
- Gen Satou (Chrome in Dr. Stone) who is playing Tsuge’s love-interest Wataya Minato
The Cherry Magic! anime is based on the hit manga series by Yuu Toyota.

The manga is currently being published in English by Square Enix, with eight volumes out, a 9th one due out on December 26th, and two more next year.
The anime is being directed by Yoshiko Okuda (Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits), with Tomoko Konparu (The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague) in charge of series composition, and Takahiro Kishida (Orient) as character designer.
Satelight (Fairy Tail) is in charge of anime production.
The Cherry Magic! anime series will premiere in January, 2024, but with no announcement yet as to where it will stream outside Japan.
We will keep you posted as soon as we find out.
Until then, watch the cute new Cherry Magic! trailer, and agree with me this anime looks like it will be amazing!
