French house music duo Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ has just made British music history by becoming the first single of 2013 to sell a million copies in the UK. The song which also features Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, is only the 169th single to ever sell one million copies, that’s in the 60 years singles have been released. When you think about how many singles must have been made over the years, that’s a pretty big achievement for Daft Punk.
Interestingly, even though Daft Punk (consisting of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) is actually French, they’ve been even more successful in the UK than they have in France, becoming the darlings of British house music for many.
If you haven’t heard Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, check it out below. Catchy enough it’s easy to see why Get Lucky has sold 1 million copies in the UK, isn’t it?
