Anime series Danmachi, Season 5 (aka Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) just got an official trailer and an announcement of six supporting cast members who will be involved in the upcoming Danmachi Goddess of Fertility Arc.
The trailer has protagonist Bell being asked out on a date to the Goddess Festival by Syl, the girl who works at the local pub and who, apparently, isn’t quite as shy is she first seems.
Her invitation specifies “Just the two of us”.
Of course, this thrusts Bell’s friends into an absolute frenzy, with goddess Hestia outraged, and others saying this must be stopped.
The new Danmachi, Season 5 trailer, though, ends with Syl arriving at the meeting place on the day of the date to find an incredibly cleaned up and well-dressed Bell waiting for her.
The English subtitles on the Danmachi, Season 5 trailer are slightly dodgy but, unlike most other anime studios/production committees who just serve their trailers in Japanese, at least Warner Bros. Japan has tried, and I definitely give them credit for that.
The Danmachi, Season 5 voice actors — two who are returning and four who are new — and their characters are:
- Ryoukan Koyanagi is back as Ottarl
- Taku Yashiro is returning as Allen Fromel
- Nobunaga Shimazaki will voice Hedin Selland
- Yusuke Kobayashi (Tomo in The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses) is Hogni Ragnar
- Haruka Shiraishi (Wendy in High Card) voices Horn
- Taichi Ichikawa (Twenty Fifth Bam in Tower of God) is playing the Gulliver Brothers
There’s no word yet on the specific date Danmachi, Season 5 will premiere, but it is currently scheduled for some time in October, 2024.
Watch the new Danmachi, Season 5 trailer below, check out Bell’s new look, and get suitably excited.
You can watch the first four seasons of Danmachi: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? as a refresher course until then via Crunchyroll and HIDIVE (yeah, oddly, the seasons are split up onto different streaming platforms).
