Darksiders Warmastered Edition releases on May 23 on the Wii U
Rumors have been flying around for months the remastered version of Vigil Games’ 2010 action game Darksiders Warmasters Edition had been canceled for the Wii U.
Turns out, like often happens with rumors, that isn’t true at all. In fact, Darksiders Warmastered Edition releases on May 23 on the Wii U after all.
Then again, it’s not surprising people were worried the Wii U port of the action role-playing hack and slash video game would never see the light of day, as it was originally destined to hit shelves at the same time as the PS4, Xbox One and PC ports did. And that was back in October last year.
Developer Vigil Games, however, decided the game really wasn’t up to scratch for the Wii U, so they declined to release it until they had had time to fix it, and it was. Pity many other developers don’t think the same way, isn’t it?
As for the new release of the popular game, Darksiders Warmastered Edition is a much updated version of the original game. It has been given an HD resolution update and some high-end performance improvements that, if you played the original version when it was released, you are sure to notice.
If you have played it on any of the other platforms, though, you will probably notice it only runs at 30fps on the Wii U version, while PS4, Xbox One and PC players are able to play it at 60 frames per second.
Darkmasters Warmastered Edition on the Wii U will be priced at $19.99 in the U.S. and £14.99 in the U.K. Europe will pay the highest price at 19.99 euros. (And, as a European, can someone please explain to my why that often seems to be the case? Because half the time, I just feel like we’re being intentionally ripped off).
