Dear White People premiered at the Sundance Film Festival six months ago and, since then, it’s been one of the most talked about films of the last year. A satire about the way white people interact with black people, it’s smart, funny and very well written. So well done, in fact, it was awarded the Sundance Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Talent.
A new Dear White People video trailer is now out, as the movie itself is finally going to be showing up in movie theaters in the United States on October 17th, and it makes the movie look as funny as I’ve heard. And as well acted.
Dear White People stars Tyler James Williams, Tessa Thompson, Teyonah Parris, and Brandon P. Bell and was directed by Justin Simien. Don’t expect it to just be making fun of white people, though. Blacks get just as much stick.
