Diamond no Ace: Act II Second Season gets visual and premiere date – but it’s still a ways away
While it has been five years now since the first season of Diamond no Ace: Act II ended, it appears it’s going to be quite a bit longer until its sequel — Diamond no Ace: Act II Second Season — premieres.
That quite-a-ways-aways’ sequel premiere was finally confirmed today on the Diamond no Ace X account, and it unfortunately means Diamond no Ace: Act II Second Season will not be premiering until some time in 2026.
In other words, six years after its first season ended. Yikes, eh!
Along with the premiere date, a cool new visual was also released along with the comment:
The visual is depicting Eijun Sawamura’s mid-pitching form alongside Kazuya Miyuki’s determined profile.
While not much has yet been released about Diamond no Ace: Act II Second Season, one thing we do know is the main voice cast is returning to reprise their roles.
The Ace of Diamond manga series
The anime itself is based on the long-running sports-themed manga series Ace of Diamond written and illustrated by Yuji Terajima.
It first began publishing in Weekly Shōnen Magazine, and was eventually published in 47 tankōbon volumes, with the final volume coming out in Japan in January, 2015.
A sequel Ace of Diamond Act II, which the upcoming season is based on, then kicked off on August 2015 and was published until October 2022, with another 34 volumes eventually coming out.
The original Ace of Diamond manga is published in English by Kodansha USA who, at least yet, has not begun publishing its sequel Ace of Diamond Act II.
No wonder then that the Ace of Diamond manga is now one of the world’s most successful series with more than 40 million copies in circulation, as well as a winner of several prestigious awards.
As for the plot of Ace of Diamond Act II, the first volume of the Japanese manga describes it like this:
“I am standing here right now”.
Eijun Sawamura, now a second-year student, is finally making his debut at the Senbatsu Koshien!
His only goal is to reach the top of the country!! To revive the prestigious school. The Seido High School baseball team’s winning streak begins!!
Enjoy the latest visual, and we will keep updating you here at Leo Sigh as more information comes out in the year or so leading up to Diamond no Ace: Act II Second Season finally dropping.
Fingers crossed it won’t be delayed.
