I loved Doctor Who and the Daleks growing up. Like most British kids during the 1960s and 70s, half of my time outside with my friends was spent running around with my arm stuck straight out shouting in a gravely voice “I am a Dalek. You will be exterminated. Exterminate! Exterminate!” — funny how fun that really was.
So, when I saw this video on the BBC’s YouTube channel of actor and Doctor Who writer Mark Gatiss outside the Houses of Parliament in London with a group of Daleks getting ready to invade Earth — again — I was so excited.
Mark Gatiss is apparently in the process of writing and filming two new episodes for the seventh series of Doctor Who, one of which recreates the famous Dalek invasion of Earth from the 1960s.
There is no word yet on when the show will actually air but, if the BBC is promoting it in videos and on their website, it’s likely to be soon.
Meanwhile, watch the Dalek invasion of London video to see how incredibly fun this looks, and then check out the BBC’s website for more information about the Daleks Invasion of Earth, 2013AD
I am sooooooo looking forward to this. How about you?
