Dropout Idol Fruit Tart character designs are adorable in promo video

Another anime series in a long list of series with weird titles is Dropout Idol Fruit Tart (aka Ochikobore Fruit Tart) the upcoming slice of life anime due to release in July.

It got a new promo video today along with the release of new Dropout Idol Fruit Tart character designs that are absolutely adorable.

Dropout Idol Fruit Tart storyline

The anime tells the story of high school student Ino Sakura who moves to Tokyo in an attempt to become an idol.

Once there, she goes to live in the Nezumi-sou dorm, an infamous dormitory that is known to house idols that have dropped out of the business.

Soon Ino Sakura finds herself sharing space with a former child actor, a musician and a model. Not long after, the four of them have joined together to create a new idol group called Fruit Tart.

It is then that they learn their beloved dorm is about to be torn down (shades of Comic Girls). So the girls get back into show business in an attempt to earn enough money to pay off the dorm owner’s hundred million yen debt.
