False Memory (2025) PV ramps up the psychological turmoil in the donghua even more

I have to say I am incredibly happy to see the continuation of the Chinese donghua False Memory (aka Jiyi Guanli Ju) being announced on the 2024-2025 MADE BY BILIBILI event recently.

Sadly, an event only available in Chinese and with no English subtitles, but one that, nevertheless, did feature a plethora of upcoming superb-looking Chinese donghua.

One of them — Jiyu Guanli Ju (2025) — aka False Memory (2025) is the follow-up to the original donghua.

That stand-alone one-episode donghua, came out in 2020 and, for its interesting art style and unique story, was quite a standout at the time.

Now, with its continuation coming out some time in 2025, here’s what we know about that so far.

False Memory 2 visual

What is the False Memory donghua plot?

The 18-minute False Memory donghua was animated by Studio Tumble and Flint Sugar and tells the story of a boy who is being bullied and so creates a “BUG Man” called Shi Yan, who at first does everything he can to protect him.

But who soon then also goes on to mess with his memories.

In the follow up to the psychologically quite disturbing original story, Bilibili explains the new donghua’s plot like this:

In order to go back to the past, Guan Chao tries hard to find the “burning stone” that activates the time gun, but accidentally falls into the Memory Management Bureau.

Only by conquering the BUG people in the memory layer can he return to reality.

With the help of administrators such as Fangtang and Baizhong, can Guan Chao successfully complete the task? What kind of challenges are awaiting Guan Chao in each memory layer…

That new two-minute False Memory (2025) donghua PV shows the same off-beat and very cool graphics and animation style we loved in the original animated episode, alongside the same characters, as the intense psychological nature of Episode 1 ramps up even more in Episode 2.

Watch the new False Memory (2025) PV below to see just how unique the new donghua may be.

There is no word yet from Bilibili as to when the False Memory sequel will release. We will update you here on Leo Sigh as soon as more information is released.
