First Aid Kit give a mesmerizing performance of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘America‘ on Letterman
First Aid Kit was on the Late Show with David Letterman last night for the second time where they gave a mesmerizing performance of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘America‘.
It’s one of the songs Dave used to sing to his son, so he asked the Swedish folk duo if they would perform it on his show.
And what’s interesting about First Aid Kit’s version of ‘America‘, other than it is astoundingly beautiful with such gorgeous harmonies and their ethereal sounding voices, is you could have heard a pin drop in the audience as they were singing.
Just in case you haven’t heard First Aid Kit sing before, they are two Swedish sisters — Klara and Johanna Söderberg — who got the attention of the music industry when they were still teenagers and uploading their music to MySpace and YouTube.
Since then they’ve firmly established themselves as two of the best folk singers in the world, and amassed a huge international following.
Watch First Aid Kit sing ‘America‘ on David Letterman below to see why. Yes, it is their late night talk show debut. And yes, goosebumps.
