From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman ED ‘Alright!!!’ music video drops – FLOW kills it again

Japanese rock band FLOW has dropped the official music video for the From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman ED ‘Alright!!!‘

The anime’s ending theme song is an upbeat, fun track whose lyrics illustrate beautifully the way Beryl has moved out of his comfort zone in his small village, and taken on the responsibilities of his new job in the capital.

And especially when it comes to the girls Beryl has trained to become the best versions of themselves. Girls who are now giving back everything they learned to Beryl himself:

I look at the torn map
In this city alien to me, where I finally got to.
The fragment of that time that was passed on to me
Turned and turned, until now it came back to me.

There is a smile that I want to protect.
The feelings that I have hidden inspire me.
The sun rises, and a new morning comes.
Its light spills into the corners of the world, where I cannot go.
Now is the time to move quickly forward, alright!!!

FLOW’s ‘Alright!!!’ music video features the five members of the band performing the song outside in the beautiful Japanese countryside.

‘Alright!!!‘ is FLOW’s 41st single (yep, they’ve been around since the band was founded way back in 1998, and are still incredibly popular).

The song’s physical copies officially release on May 28th, 2025, with the track dropping digitally on Spotify and other streaming services on April 6th.

Its physical release (see here via Sony) will feature three tracks — ‘Alright!!!’, a TV size of the song, and its instrumental.

In the past, the band has also provided theme songs for anime series like Eureka Seven, Code Geass, Naruto Shippuden, The Seven Deadly Sins, Shadowverse and A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special.

And yep, they have killed it with this new one too!

The plot of the From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman anime

The anime adaptation is based on the Japanese light novel series titled 片田舎のおっさん、剣聖になる ～ただの田舎の剣術師範だったのに、大成した弟子たちが俺を放ってくれない件～ (or From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: My Hotshot Disciples Are All Grown Up Now and They Won’t Leave Me Alone ).

The first volume of its Japanese released explains its plot like this:

“I have recommended you as a special instructor for the Knights of the Kingdom.”

Beryl Gardinant is a man who runs a small sword-fighting dojo in a rural village. One day, his former student, Allucia, who has risen to become the young commander of the Kingdom’s Knights, comes to visit him and he is sent to the royal capital as a special instructor for the Knights of the Kingdom.

What will become of Beryl, who is reunited with his accomplished former students, and excited by their excitement?
