Gachiakuta’s Zanka Nijiku character visual and PV released with design VERY close to manga

There’s another beautiful character visual out for the upcoming action fantasy anime Gachiakuta, and this time it’s for Zanka Nijiku — a member of Team Akuta’s Cleaners/Janitors, and an expert in handling Vital Instruments.

The latest Gachiakuta character visual follows on from the illustration for Gachiakuta’s Enjin.

It was drawn by drawn by character designer and chief animation director Satoshi Ishino and came out on the Gatchiakuta X account earlier today, along with the comment:

Don’t underestimate ordinary people.

Appointed by Enjin to be Ludo’s instructor, he is the Giver, the most skilled in handling Vital instruments. He is as close to a spoiled rich kid as it’s possible to get.

Well, that says a lot about Zanka Nijiku’s character, doesn’t it?

And yes, if you have read the manga series the anime is based on, just one look at that visual will tell you character designer Satoshi Ishino has done a beautiful job bringing Zanka Nijiku to life, as he appears incredibly close to his beautifully-drawn manga original.

And doesn’t that jinki look as epic as you would expect?

The visual also came with a short character trailer, but that doesn’t give us any more information except animates the already-released visual (ie: a bit of a waste of time really).

Watch below if you want to waste 16 seconds of your life that you will never get back.

Voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Bell in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) voices Zanka Nijiku.

He commented about accepting the role:

At first glance, he seems blunt, but I think he is a character with strong beliefs deep down.

When I first received the script, I screamed inside, “This is different from the Zanka I had imagined.” As I continued to read the script and the original work, I remember understanding the true nature of that sense of incongruity.

It was only after understanding his experiences and past that I was able to play Zanka.
