Japanese voice actor Gakuto Kajiwara, who you will likely be most familiar with as our boy Asta in the long-running anime Black Clover, has just been announced as voicing Sigma in the upcoming Fate/strange Fake series.
Sigma, who is one of the anime’s many main characters, also had his character design released on the anime’s official X account alongside a photo of the voice actor, followed by an additional character design of Flat Escardos with Berserker on his wrist.
Berserker is being voiced by Kenyuu Horiuchi (Yokozawa in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi) in the Japanese original, with Joe J. Thomas (Manabu Yasui in March Comes in Like a Lion) voicing him in the English dub.
Meanwhile Flat Escardos is being played by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kazuto in Sword Art Online), and Khoi Dao (Rei in March Comes in Like a Lion).
Check out both new character designs above and below.
Fate/strange Fake anime details
The latest in the Fate franchise, Fate/strange Fake is one of this year’s highly-anticipated anime series since its prequel — Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn — premiered in July, 2023, and with Episode 1 of Fate/strange Fake then hitting Crunchyroll last December.
Yep, we have had a nice wetting of the appetite, and then nothing since.
The anime series is being directed by Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume, who also directed Whispers of Dawn, with Daisuke Oohigashi also back in charge of scripts, and Yuukei Yamada (Fate/Apocrypha) both designing the characters and acting as Chief Animation Director.
The extremely prolific composer Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, The Seven Deadly Sins, Solo Leveling) is composing the soundtrack.
A-1 Pictures is also back animating the next in the Fate series, with production by Aniplex.
No word yet on when Fate/strange Fake will premiere, but we do know it is some time this year. But no worries, we will update you here on Leo Sigh as soon as more information is announced.
