Geek & Sundry’s ‘Magic: The Gathering: Spellslingers’ Season 3 Kicks Off with Alison Haislip
Geek & Sundry has an awesome web series that’s currently in its third season. Called ‘Magic: The Gathering: Spellslingers‘, it’s hosted by e-sports commentator Sean Plott and features a different guest opponent every week.
‘Magic: The Gathering: Spellslingers‘ Season 3 kicked off last week with actress Alison Haislip.
In this episode, Sean and Alison play with the ‘Magic Origins Set‘, which, as Geek & Sundry say “tells the stories of how five of Magic’s most iconic Planeswalkers characters ignited their sparks and began their journeys”. Cool, eh?
And I loved this first episode of Season 3 as, like me, Alison Haislip had never actually played the game before she sat down with Sean Plott. (I’ve never played it, but I love watching it being played). But, right from the beginning, she was kicking some major ass.
Starting out Spinning the Wheel of Fate, Haislip landed on the red-green deck, a great deck that is a good starting place for beginners of the game. As she says, it’s aggressive, she has a lot of big creatures, and she can “blow a lot of things up”.
Watch Alison Haislip and Sean Plott playing ‘Magic: The Gathering: Spellslingers‘ on the first episode of Season 3 of the show in the video below to find out who won.
And, of course, if this is a first episode for you, do go back and watch all of the Geek & Sundry episodes of Spellslingers. They’re fabulous.
