British actress Gemma Arterton says her role in ‘Made in Dagenham’ is her “dream job”. Talking to ODE this week, Gemma talked about singing for an hour and a half every day during her performance every night, and how many challenges it gives her, especially when she’s off stage – “no shouting, no drinking, no fun” — as she has to conserve her voice.
Arterton says she loves being in the show, and is proud of how Made in Dagenham is about “working class people triumphing over the people in power.”
Gemma also talks about how she never really thought she’d be a film actor, as being on stage was what she had always wanted to do. “I do really love doing films as well, but when I’m on stage you can’t really beat that feeling. It’s when you get a reaction from the audience, or just being live and every night is different.”
