There is a lovely Gillian Anderson interview in the British newspaper The Telegraph, in which Anderson comes off as how I have always thought of her — intense, complex, intelligent, introspective, sure of what she wants, charismatic, a no bullshit person, and someone who has her own opinions and has no fear of sharing.
What struck me about this Gillian Anderson interview, though, other than that she is all of the above plus interesting, charming, funny, sweet and even talks about the one time she was tempted to tweet (she doesn’t tweet, ever) and what she was going to say, is Anderson’s comment about willing to be in a same-sex relationship — again.
Saying it as she does.
Kind of casually and in a matter of fact way. As, frankly, I think it really should be said and thought of in this day and age.
“I wouldn’t discount it,” Anderson says. “I did it before and I’m not closed to that idea. To me a relationship is about loving another human being; their gender is irrevelant.”
Pretty much says it all.
As for work, it has just been announced Gillian Anderson will be returning to The X-Files in a new six-episode series that will start filming in the summer.
David Duchovny will be back too. Now that I can’t wait for.
