Gods’ Games We Play creditless opening animation intros Apostles and features ‘New Game’ OP

After the new fantasy suspense anime Gods’ Games We Play premiered yesterday in Japan, a creditless opening animation was released to get folks even more excited about the anime series.

The Gods’ Games We Play creditless opening animation features the anime’s OP — ‘New Game‘ by AliA — a pretty decent rock song, as well as gives us a look at the main characters, and a preview of some of the other Apostles we are likely to meet and the games they will play as the anime progresses.

AliA’s ‘New Game‘ also received both a TV version and full-length release today. Listen to both versions of the Gods’ Games We Play OP below via Spotify.

What is the plot of Gods’ Games We Play?

Gods’ Games We Play, which was supposed to premiere on April 1st but was weirdly released by Crunchyroll three days before that, tells the story of teams of humans playing in ‘God Games’ with the goal of winning 10 games in a row.

Something that has never been done before.

If a human does come along who is able to do that, his wishes will be granted by the gods.

In the first episode of Gods’ Games We Play, we meet Fay, a player or “Apostle” who is tasked with taking care of Leshea, a former god who wants to be one of the humans to win 10 games in a row.

Then she can ask the gods to grant her wish of becoming a god again.

The Gods’ Games We Play light novels

Gods’ Games We Play is based on the light novels by Kei Sazane and Toiro Tomose.

Yen Press is publishing the novel series in English, with two volumes of the seven volumes available in Japanese currently out.

The anime series based on the novels is directed by Tatsuya Shiraishi with series composition by NTL, and character designs by Yoshihiro Watanabe.

Liden Films is in charge of anime production.

The next episode of the anime series is due to premiere on April 8th but, whether Crunchyroll releases it early or not, we will have to wait and see.
