Goodbye, Don Glees! promoted by girls from A Place Further Than The Universe in new trailer — so cute!

The upcoming movie Goodbye, Don Glees! got a new trailer today, and it’s one of the cutest ones I have seen in a while considering it features the girls from A Place Further Than The Universe promoting the film.

The new Goodbye, Don Glees! trailer shows Mari, Yuzuki, Shirase and Hinata talking about the plot of Goodbye, Don Glees!, how great it looks, and how they all plan on going to see the movie together.

Considering that Goodbye, Don Glees! director and writer Atsuko Ishizuka also directed and wrote A Place Further Than The Universe, character designer Takahiro Yoshimatsu is responsible for the characters on both, and composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa is writing the music for Goodbye, Don Glees! just like he did A Place Further Than The Universe, I think this promo collaboration is an awesome idea.

The star-studded cast, and yes, this film has some major hitters, includes:

  • Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Rōma Kamogawa,
  • Yuuki Kaji (Melodias in The Seven Deadly Sins) as Hokuto “Toto” Mitarai,
  • Ayumu Murase (Akira in Kemono Jihen) as Shizuku “Drop” Sakuma,
  • Kana Hanazawa (Shirase in A Place Further Than The Universe) as Chibori “Tivoli” Urayasu.

Goodbye, Don Glees! tells the story of Toto, Rōma and Drop, three Japanese boys who live in the countryside, and create a club they call ‘Don Glees’.

The problem comes in, however, when they are blamed for a forest fire they didn’t cause, and so head off into the forest in search of a drone that hopefully will prove their innocence.

Of course, as the film is being directed by the same person that got the girls in A Place Further Than The Universe to the Antarctic, don’t be surprised when the boys end up in Iceland.

Come on, it’s a coming-of-age story and, from the scenes released from the film so far, a darned good one.

Watch the just released Goodbye, Don Glees! trailer featuring the girls from A Place Further Than The Universe below, and check out that cute new key visual showing them heading off to the cinema complete with popcorn and drinks (above).

Yep, they are still as adorable as ever.
