One of my favorite movies is ‘Frantic‘. A 1988 movie starring Harrison Ford as a man who goes on a trip to Paris with his wife only to have her kidnapped. That’s not the interesting part, though. In fact, there are two things I love this movie for – the amazing French actress Emanuelle Seigner (she’s so beautiful and sexy), and because the Grace Jones song ‘I’ve Seen That Face Before (Libertango)‘ is a song in a scene in a disco that Seigner dances to.
The disco scene is wonderful, (Seigner has to be one of the most sensual women to ever appear on film and, from then on, I wanted to be just like her – and yes, I bought a black leather jacket and hat – just like she wore in the film – well, yeah, we girls do these things), and Grace Jones sang ‘I’ve Seen That Face Before (Libertango)‘ nightly on my CD player for weeks afterwards.
So, after years of forgetting about it, I’m resurrecting Grace Jones and listening to ‘I’ve Seen That Face Before (Libertango)’ as my Repeat Rotation Video today.
Such a cool song with a fabulous French feel, and one you really should dance to. Even if it’s just around your own living room.
