He Yu and Meng Ziyi look drop-dead gorgeous in ‘Blossoms of Power’ set photos
When it comes to drop-dead gorgeous Chinese actors, I guarantee you would have to go a long way to beat the looks of Blossoms of Power co-stars He Yu and Meng Ziyi.
I mean, Ye Gods, just look at the Blossoms of Power set photos that have been dropping in the last couple of days.
Both stars dressed in luxuriously sumptuous robes, while looking like they are a God about to walk off set and into your dreams.
Blossoms of Power (百花杀) began filming in early April, with a plan to finish by the end of July or early August.
And, if you are looking for an historical romance drama that hits all the feels — stunning costumes, gorgeous sets, a tragically-begun but ultimately wonderful love story, superb direction (by In Blossom director Zhong Qing) and utterly epic — then this one is likely it.
I know it’s on my list of Likely Dropping in 2026 C-dramas to binge.
Especially because, even though most Chinese historical dramas do an incredible job with set design and costumes, it looks like the people involved with Blossoms of Power have gone the extra mile.
Chinese news media, by the way, has been reporting the attention to detail on the sets and costumes of Blossoms of Power has been epic, with a small fortune spent on both.
Just looking at the few set photos dropped so far, and you can see that’s true.
Zhong Qing directs Hu Ye and Meng Ziyi in Blossoms of Power, alongside a superb supporting cast that includes Fan Shuai Qi (Guardians of the Dafeng), Lai Wei Ming (Everyone Loves Me), Zhao Zhi Wei (Step by Step Love), Gao Wei Guang (Endless Protection), Chen He Yi (Perfect Match), Qiu Xinzhi (Dashing Youth), Tian Lei (The Litchi Road) and Yumiko Cheng (A Moment But Forever).
The Chinese drama is based on the web novel ‘Wo Hua Kai Hou Bai Hua Sha‘ (我花开后百花杀) by Jin Huang (锦凰), and tells the story of the struggle for power between Shen Xi He, the Princess of the Northwest and Crown Prince Xiao Hua Yong.
A struggle that, obviously, goes from opposing sides to madly in love as the drama continues.
The C-drama itself is currently slated for a 2026 release on Tencent Video in China and WeTV internationally.
Enjoy the new on set photos from Blossoms in Power, and the stunning beauty of the two young Chinese actors.
We’ll keep you updated here at Leo Sigh as more details about the C-drama’s filming, the filming ending, post-production and premiere date drops.
