More news is out today about the isekai anime series I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, Season 2.
It includes a premiere date — July 9th, 2025 — its latest key visual featuring the anime’s main characters, the first official trailer and announcements of two additional cast members and their characters.
The upbeat and crazy trailer does a great job reminding fans of how nuts many of the anime’s characters are, and also introduces the two new characters and their voice actors CVs.
New cast additions for I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince, Season 2
The two additional voice actors were announced via the anime’s X account, with visuals of their characters.
They are veteran actors Shoutaro Morikubo (Shikamaru Nara aka Shadow Boy in Naruto) who is voicing Jihriel, and Mitsuru Miyamoto (Ougai Mori in Bungou Stray Dogs) who plays Mysterious Priest.
Both have been in the voice acting business for several decades, so are highly skilled at bringing anime characters to life.
I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince… light novels and manga
Also known as Tensei shitara Dainana Ouji Datta node, Kimama ni Majutsu wo Kiwamemasu, the anime is adapted from the light novels written by Kenkyo na Circle and illustrated by Meru.
There are currently nine volumes out in Japanese via Kodansha.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Yosuke Kokuzawa has 18 volumes out so far in Japan, and 14 volumes published in English in both digital and print copies via Kodansha USA.
Volume 15 is due to hit shelves on May 20th via the same publisher.

The anime adaptation is being directed by Jin Tamamura (A Sister’s All You Need), with Naoki Tozuka (Meiji Gekken: 1874) in charge of scripts and series composition, and Naru Nishikori (Meiji Gekken: 1874) both designing the characters and serving as chief animation director.
Animation is being carried out by Tsumugi Akita Animation Lab (Meiji Gekken: 1874) (X account).
The anime’s plot, via its original Japanese light novel, looks like this:
I was fascinated by the magic of my opponent during a duel and lost my life – but for some reason I was reincarnated as Lloyd, the seventh prince of the Kingdom of Saloum.
Far from the right to inherit the throne, Lloyd was encouraged to live life as he pleased, so he decided to study magic, which he loved, while training his swordsmanship with his maid Sylpha.
